One Thing, Mark 10:17-22
In our Scripture, we meet a rich, young man who is searching for “eternal life.” Jesus promises him that it is his, if he will do only “one thing.”
1. Jesus shares the idea of a sincere________________.
*There were a lot of good__________ to   commend him for.
*Jesus sensed his sincerity and “_________ him.”
2. Jesus shares the idea of serious___________.
*The “one thing” lacking meant _______   was lacking.
*The “one thing” God required for him to give God first _________ in his life.
*All who reject God’s call live to   ____________ that decision.
     3.Jesus shares the idea of a simple __________.
*What “one thing” is keeping you from the goal of eternal life? ___________________
*Jesus said the “one thing” we lack is to “come, take up the _________ and follow me.”
 *We are required to:

The challenge today is to simply give all of yourself to Jesus.

"Partnering With God's Work: Four Things Each for Pastor and People to Do!"

Introduction:

Jesus came to build the __________ (and not … .)

Wherever the church takes root, there's both a p________ to lead and a p__________ to carry out the work of ministry.

Four things the pastor must do:

A.            Preach the W___________. (2 Tim 4:1-5)
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

B.            L_______________ the Word!                (2 Tim 2:22-24)

I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day.
I'd rather one would walk with me than merely tell the way.
The eye's a better pupil and much sharper than the ear.
Fine counsel can confuse me, but example's always clear.
The lectures you deliver may be very wise and true,
But I'd rather get my lesson by observing what you do.

C.            Give w_________ council and s__________ direction. (2 Tim 2:14)

"Where there is no vision, the people perish." (Prv. 29:18)

 D.            P______________ and take time to listen to God. (Acts 6:4)

Prayer is not preparation for the greater work, prayer is the greater work.

ll.             Four things the people of God must do:

A.            H__________ the Word!

B.            Maintain the u___________ in the church.

C.            F_______________ your calling to ministry!

D.            Love and pray!

Conclusion:

Everything God designed and created this world to be in this dispensation is fulfilled in the local church!!!

"Your kingdom come, your will be done here on earth as it is in heaven." (Jesus, Mt. 6:10)
