"Partnering With God's Work: Four Things Each for Pastor and People to Do!"

Introduction:

Jesus came to build the __________ (and not … .)

Wherever the church takes root, there's both a p________ to lead and a p__________ to carry out the work of ministry.

Four things the pastor must do:

A. Preach the W___________. (2 Tim 4:1-5)
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

B. L_______________ the Word! (2 Tim 2:22-24)

I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day.
I'd rather one would walk with me than merely tell the way.
The eye's a better pupil and much sharper than the ear.
Fine counsel can confuse me, but example's always clear.
The lectures you deliver may be very wise and true,
But I'd rather get my lesson by observing what you do.

C. Give w_________ council and s__________ direction. (2 Tim 2:14)

"Where there is no vision, the people perish." (Prv. 29:18)

D. P______________ and take time to listen to God. (Acts 6:4)

Prayer is not preparation for the greater work, prayer is the greater work.

B. Maintain the u___________ in the church.

Conclusion:

Everything God designed and created this world to be in this dispensation is fulfilled in the local church!!!

"Your kingdom come, your will be done here on earth as it is in heaven." (Jesus, Mt. 6:10)
