April 21 2024 Bulletin

Welcome

Welcome to Brazil Naz. It is our sincere hope that you feel God's presence in our services and Christ's love in our people.

Information about the church, our ministries, upcoming events, and more can be found at brazilnaz.com.

We’d also love the opportunity to get to know you better. Whether you are new to the faith or have been a Christian your whole life, we want to be by your side along your spiritual journey. Please complete a Connection Form so we can keep in touch.

For our families with children

If you have children, we have several offerings for all ages.

On Sunday mornings, volunteers are available in the nursery for children up to age 3. A room is available for nursing mothers, too. Both rooms are located next to the Sanctuary near the west entrance.

Children ages 3-5 who are potty-trained can attend Wee Worship in the northeast classroom. Wee Worship offers playtime and learning activities.

Children in school up to age 12 can attend Children's Church. Children's Church offers lessons that reinforce Biblical values and principles. Children's Church is in the room next to the Library.

Once a month, we have a Family Sunday when children stay in the sanctuary with their family.

VBS Planning and Donations

VBS will be here soon! There is a sign-up sheet for volunteers.

VBS leadership will be holding a short meeting for volunteers today after service.

There is a donation board by the VBS bulletin board in the foyer. If you take a slip off the board, please sign your name on the clipboard as well.

VBS needs 12 ice cream pails. Spread the word if you know someone who uses this type of ice cream.

Chili Cookoff

A big thanks to all who brought chili and desserts, helped with set up and clean up, and donated money for SWID camps. We raised $581 last Sunday. (We also have over $1000 leftover from last year.) Between both funds, we should be able to pay for ½ of camp fees for the 10 who are planning to attend SWID camps this summer.  Results from the Chili Cookoff will be announced at the beginning of our worship service today.

Loyalty Day Parade

Our church is planning to participate in the Loyalty Day Parade on May 4 at 2pm to advertise for VBS. Line-up will be at 1pm. We will have a trailer decorated with our VBS theme. We would like to have some people walk with the trailer and pass out candy and VBS flyers. No one will be able to ride on the trailer. Sign up on the bulletin board if you would like to join us in the parade. You can also bless this ministry by donating bulk candy (bubble gum, dum-dum suckers, tootsie rolls).

Ladies’ Bible Study

Our Ladies’ Bible Study meets on Thursday nights at 6pm. We are studying “Walk as Jesus Walked” by Ray Vander Laan.

Our church has been hosting a community event over the last few years. We have provided a staff appreciation luncheon for our neighbors, East Side Elementary. This luncheon will be held on the school’s field day, Thursday, May 9. Would you like to help bless our community? The luncheon includes a variety of salads with chicken/ham salad sandwiches. This year we are having sheet cakes for desserts. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. We will be serving about 40 people. If you can come and help serve at the luncheon, you can sign up for that as well.

Focus on missions . . .

The country of Nicaragua in the Mesoamerica Region has been plagued by dictatorship and civil war and is one of the poorest nations in Latin America. Nazarenes established work there in 1937, bringing Christ to Nicaraguans for more than 80 years and finding open doors where it was thought impossible to preach. There are 15,941 members in 205 organized churches (16 not yet organized), and 115 ordained ministers (89 District Licensed Ministers) on 4 districts. Pray for fresh commitment by next generations to God’s mission and pray for God-called workers to enter His harvest field. Thank you for praying for Nicaragua!

Sermon Notes

"God Knows You"

Scripture: Psalm 139:13-18

13 For You formed my inward parts;

You covered me in my mother''s womb.

14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

Marvelous are Your works,

And that my soul knows very well.

15 My frame was not hidden from You,

When I was made in secret,

And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.

And in Your book they all were written,

The days fashioned for me,

When as yet there were none of them.

17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!

How great is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;

When I awake, I am still with You.

Sermon Notes:

1. God ____________________ you

2. God had ___________________ for you

3. God _____________ about you

New connection missionaries

Nate and Hope Owens, our previously assigned connection missionaries will be returning to the United States this summer. So, our district has been assigned a new missionary family to finish out the calendar year. They are Mark and Jazz Eugenio who serve in Bangkok Thailand. Information about them can be found on the bulletin insert. Please keep the card and use it as a reminder to pray for this family.
